Shelly S. Maurer

Shelly Sanchez Maurer was born in El Centro, California in 1966 and spent most of her childhood in Orange County, California. She attended the University of California at Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1989, and her Juris Doctorate (with honors) from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California. While at Pepperdine, Ms. Maurer served as the school's representative to the American Bar Association, Law Student Division from 1993 to 1995. She also served as the Vice President of the Student Bar Association from 1994 to 1995.

Ms. Maurer has established a diverse practice since graduating law school, assisting clients on a wide variety of business and personal issues. These areas include: residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural real estate purchases and leases; general business counseling; a wide variety of business contracts, including service contracts, sale of goods contracts, employment contracts, and lien protection; business formations, dissolutions and mergers; entity formations for business and personal asset protection; business asset and stock sales and purchases, including multi-million dollar transactions; state and federal trademark applications; intellectual property licensing; intellectual property issues in various business transactions; and intellectual property infringement disputes from both the owner's and the alleged infringers' perspective.

Ms. Maurer is a member of the California State Bar, the Kern County Bar Association and the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In addition to California, she is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and is a registered attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
